The chief of Jadeja, named Rao Godaji, built this fort to preclude the possibility of trespassing. Travellers can also visit the Bhujángá Naga Temple, situated at the corner of the lake. According to folklore, the presiding deity of the temple, Bhujang Nag, is the brother of the Hindu deity Sheshnag.
Among other places to visit in Bhuj is the Hamirsar Lake, which is a man-made lake located in the centre of the Bhuj city. This lake is over 450 years old and has been named after Rao Hamir, a Jadeja ruler. The lake spreads over an area of 28 acres, and there is a beautiful garden right in the middle of the lake.
